Keeping you on the road

Meet the Mechanic

Darren Lea-Grime

Chief Mechanic

I have worked in a bike shop as a mechanic for a number of years and have a wealth of experience, plus I am Cytech qualified. I have built bikes for British Cycling and have also worked supporting a number of the Paralympic squad, local councils, and private teams.

Much of my time is taken up keeping people on the road and giving advice. So, for those people looking at getting into, or returning to cycling, I hope to make your experience a positive one.

Given that I am a bit of an old hippy and I hate to see stuff go to waste, I am particularly eager to keep older bikes on the road as these are not only prettier to look at but are often of a far superior quality to some of the more modern bikes.

Hope to see you soon,

Daz

Our pledge to recycling our waste

Our commitment to recycling and waste

The Cycle of Good Campaign

As a part of our commitment to recycling we have signed up to the ' Cycle of Good' project. The project collects recyclables to send to Malawi, where they are re purposed.

You can now drop off your old inner tubes at That Tiny Bike Shop. The only stipulation is that they do not have puncture repair fluid in them such as Dr Slime, Stans etc. Patches are fine.

As the project is a charity they are unable to fund the postage.  We use some of the donations made in our jukebox to fund this (Yes, we have a jukebox)!

(You could even send tubes direct by visiting their website and following the links). We have a range of products in the shop but you can find a wider range of things by looking at their website. these are available to order.

To find out more visit www.cycleofgood.com

What happens to our waste?

We already recycle lots of our waste, scrap bikes are stripped for secondhand parts or sent to Trafford Council for restoration.

Small cardboard waste is recycled, and larger carboard waste is collected by small businesses who use it to package their products.

Our workshop scrap goes to local artist/inventor who use it for their products.
